Weddings are always emotional days. Weddings since COVID-19 are dialled up to an entirely new level.
Morgan & David were meant to get married in 2020, but were forced to postpone to January 2021. In the days leading up to their new date the Avalon outbreak was being cleaned up, and SA closed their borders to NSW. Unfortunately for Morgan, this was where all of her family and friends live. Her parents and sister decided to make the trip, despite this meaning a forced 14-day quarantine on the return journey. It was definitely a bittersweet feeling to share in the celebrations, knowing how many couldn’t be there.
Thankfully David’s half of the party could still attend, and a party they did bring. I think after spending much of 2020 keeping apart, there was an extra vibe in the air to make the most of it. Add a skipping groom, some sabre action and unlimited espresso martinis and you’ve got the ingredients for an amazing day.
This was such a beautiful wedding in my memory and a bright spot nestled amongst the chaos of COVID.
