2013 was a pretty awesome year. I got to photograph more weddings than ever before, with a bunch of amazing couples. Thinking back however, it’s pretty easy to pick a favourite.
In May 2012 I proposed to Liv, and on the second of March 2013, we had our wedding. I can safely say that it was the most incredible day of my life to date. It was a somewhat surreal experience to be at a wedding without being the photographer (although I still managed to squeeze in a few snaps). They say that it’s good luck to have rain on your wedding day, and we now have enough luck to last us both a few lifetimes over. It is impossible to overstate how proud I am to (at long last) have Liv as my wife. It takes a special person to marry a wedding photographer : to support an almost total lack of weekends, constantly hearing about whatever new lens/camera/flash is available, pulling the car over unexpectedly because the light is too good to miss. When she mentioned the Brenizer Method in her vows, I knew I was onto a winner.
As well as photographing my own clients, I continued to second shoot for some other talented peeps. If you experience the tragedy of myself already being booked for your date, you could do worse than to spend a day with Bec, Julie, Kylie or Adam.
A huge thankyou to everyone who trusted me with their day in 2013 – my photos would look pretty boring without all you fine people in them. 2014 is already set to be a busier year than the last, I can’t wait to shoot a whole new set of loved-up couples.
Cheers 🙂
