I've shot a lot of weddings. Despite that experience, you still never quite know what you're gunna get when you start each one. Even at a venue I've been to before, with a couple I've photographed before, there are so many unknown elements to each one. You have to approach with an open mind, a positive mindset, and just be ready to take each wedding for what it is, with no preconceptions.
I introduce this one in this way, because Jye & Rhi's wedding ended up being a real special one. One of those days where it all comes together in just the right way, with a group of people who are living a true experience, and not just going through the motions of how they feel they should behave. There were beautiful touches scattered throughout - the smoking ceremony, the donut tower, the rain at just the right time, the stunning first dance. At the centre of this though was the key ingredient to any wedding, a couple who are utterly obsessed with each other. The privilege of capturing days like this is never lost on me. Enjoy.
