Being a good wedding photographer is an intensely personal job. To get the best out of your subjects you need trust, and to earn that trust you need connection. I fell in with this friend circle of Singletonians a few years back and it’s been a pleasure to be invited back for each wedding since. It meant that by the time Danielle & Jake’s Tamburlaine wedding came around, it felt like being welcomed home. When you’re a familiar face to everyone around, there’s no pretense – they’re happy just being themselves. This let us smash out the portraits in just a few minutes and have all the more time to party. A dress from my favourite designer, a few fireworks and a killer croquembouche were the icing on the cake. Or the bouche. Whatever. You know what I mean.
