Before I moved to Newcastle, I used to live not too far away in a country town called Gloucester. I spent a good 17 years there, I love the area and the open space. When Emily & Tom hit me up to shoot their wedding there, and suggested we shoot their portrait session at the same place, I took about 0.3 seconds to ponder my decision before jumping at the chance.
I spent an afternoon getting a guided tour of the farm, walking through the same spot they’ll be getting married in just a few weeks. I think Tom has the biggest smile I’ve ever seen, and it is contagious. Although Emily didn’t grow up in the country, you’d never know it – and certainly not after seeing her handle the quad bike.
Shooting these photos just felt like I was back home.
How’s the serenity.
