It's no secret that I have a soft spot for weddings held at home. They make the experience unique. They usually make it more personal - but although this wasn't Matilda & Michael's actual home, it was beautiful nonetheless. Nestled at the base of Barrington Tops National Park, this spot had everything we needed. A stunning tree to pledge your love under, a gorgeous tree to watch the sunset under, some amazing trees to get photos between. OK, basically just lots of nice trees (and a shed, for dancing). What more could you ask for?
We started the day with a first look, which I always love seeing at weddings. With my mate Sarah Chippendale at the helm of proceedings, the ceremony was full of heart. Keep your eyes peeled for the celebratory hat-toss during the first kiss! The sunset photos basically took themselves, before we settled in for some emotional speeches and wild dancing.
It's a funny job where you can go from barely knowing someone at the start of the day, to being great friends by the end of it. Weddings have a way of letting people focus on what's in the moment, and especially so on days such as this. What a joy.
