Gratitude is always the overwhelming feeling when I look at my career from a wider perspective. Grateful that couples would plan their day of days, and invite me along. Grateful that they place their trust in me, and allow themselves the vulnerability required for meaningful photos. And, to be honest, a slight degree of bewilderment that so many stick around on my socials, long after their wedding has long since passed.
This year I ticked over my 500th wedding. I wanted to thank everyone, so I booked a weekend of my time and invited all those supporters along (for free). I honestly didn't know if anyone would bother showing up, but show up is exactly what you did. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and easily a 2024 highlight.
The weddings I covered this year brought me as much joy as ever, and continued to motivate me further. I have more milestones approaching next year and I can't wait for those. As much as I love tracking everything in my spreadsheets though, it's not all about numbers. I've done this for long enough, that what truly tickles me is working with couples who fit my vibe just right. Big on the feels, less about sticking to the runsheet. Not interested in staging moments for a photo, but happy to make time for something special when opportunity arises. It's always difficult to narrow down, but here are a few memories that stick in my mind even when I'm not looking at the photo.
